Ca.1960's - 70's Studio pottery laughing buddha also known as Hotei in Japanese or Budai in Chinese. This figure is a popular symbol of contentment, joy, abundance, and good fortune.

This Style of buddha is often associated with vintage Chinese or Japanese " Mudman " or Shiwan pottery but with no makers marks there is no saying how old it is.

With treacle glaze to his robe and glaze free to head, body arm/ hand and feet.

The stick to his ear is still in tacked normally these are broken off.
